The government of the Cherokee Tribe of Northeast Alabama consists of a bipartite system, composed of an Executive Branch and a Legislative Branch. The Executive Branch is composed of a Principal Chief, First Vice-Chief, and Second Vice-Chief. The Legislative Branch consists of a Tribal Council that is composed of seven tribal councilors representing the different regions of Alabama and any at-large members that do not reside within state jurisdiction.
